Multiple technologies are now available for detecting type 1 diabetes islet autoantibodies including RBA, ECL, LIPS, ELISA, and ADAP.
Screening programs worldwide use different combinations of technologies and choice of method varies by country and program, goals and availability. Some use a single assay, others have the ability to combine methods for confirmation. These differences reflect local infrastructure, resources, and efforts to ensure accurate detection of islet autoantibodies.
