Building the BR1DGE
T1D is a chronic autoimmune disease characterized by progressive T-cell-mediated destruction of pancreatic beta cells.1,2
Autoimmune T1D is characterized by presymptomatic stages, which are marked by the development of islet autoantibodies.1,3
Autoantibody screening can identify individuals with autoimmune T1D months to years prior to clinical presentation.1,3
Monitoring and education can improve outcomes of people with presymptomatic autoimmune T1D.4,5
