Thomas Kay

Thomas Kay is the Director of St Vincent’s Institute of Medical Research (SVI) in Melbourne, Australia, and Chair of the Australian Type 1 Diabetes Immunotherapy Collaborative (ATIC). He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences, and is a Past President of the International Pancreas and Islet Transplant Association (IPITA), and Past President of The Immunology of Diabetes Society (IDS).
Professor Kay is an Honorary Professorial Fellow at the University of Melbourne and is a clinician-scientist with expertise in endocrinology and clinical immunology. His work focuses on islet transplantation and immunotherapy, aiming to introduce new treatments for T1D that can preserve or restore beta cell function based on disease mechanisms.
