Lars-Åke Söderlund

The BR1DGE program empowers individuals with Type 1 Diabetes by providing not just medical support but the crucial educational tools needed to thrive. Knowledge is the bridge that turns challenges into opportunities for a healthier future.
Lars-Åke Söderlund has been Vice President of the Swedish Pharmaceutical Society and has held various executive positions within Apoteket AB (Sweden), currently as Executive Advisor to Apoteket (www.apoteket.se). He has also been Chair of the Swedish national project “Check My Medicines” during 2012-2020 (www.kollpalakemedel.se), a project that has significantly improved medication treatment and health literacy for the elderly in Sweden. The project is considered as one of the most successful projects in Sweden, related to medication and the elderly. The project has now been developed into a long-term collaboration between Apoteket and the main organizations for retired people in Sweden. He is Vice President of the International Pharmaceutical Federation, FIP (www.fip.org), and a member of the FIP Board of Pharmaceutical Practice. He is co-chair for the FIP Congress Programme Committee, for the World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. He is Chair of the FIP Technology Advisory Group. He is the FIP Liaison Officer for the Pharmaceutical Forum of Americas. He is a frequent speaker in Sweden and internationally on the future of the Health Systems and pharmacy. He was awarded the “Pharmacy Profile of the Year” award (Sweden) in 2014, the “Great Individual Support to Chinese Healthcare” award in 2017, the “FIP Fellow” award in 2018 - for demonstrating strong leadership at an international level, having distinguished himself in the pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice, and having contributed to the advancement of pharmacy practice. He received the “Pharmacist of the Year” award in 2020 (Sweden).
