Hôpital Necker Enfants Malades, Université de Paris Cité, Paris, France

Dr. Jacques Beltrand is a distinguished physician and researcher, specializing in pediatric endocrinology and diabetes. As a Professor of Pediatrics and Developmental Biology at Hôpital Necker Enfants Malades, he contributes to both clinical and academic environments. He is also the co-leader of a research team focused on immunology and genetics in diabetes and endocrine diseases at the renowned Institut Cochin in Paris.

His work is pivotal in advancing pediatric care and endocrine research, with a particular focus on diabetes, metabolism, and nutritional influences on disease progression. Dr. Beltrand’s research interests lie at the intersection of pediatric endocrinology, diabetes, metabolism, and nutritional science. He focuses on understanding the immunological and genetic aspects of diabetes and endocrine diseases in children. His investigations explore how early nutrition and metabolic factors influence diabetes development and the endocrine system’s functioning. Notably, his research on leptin therapy for children with congenital lipoatrophy and his studies on maternal diet impact on pancreatic cell development provide significant insights into managing diabetes in pediatric populations.
